A Ukrainian attack by suicide drones on Russian territory

The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Thursday that it had destroyed 14 Ukrainian drones overnight in the Belgorod and Kursk regions, on the border with Ukraine.
Drone attacks targeting Russian territory have increased in recent days, in the run-up to the presidential elections scheduled to be held in Russia from March 15 to 17, which are likely to see President Vladimir Putin win a new six-year term.
The Ministry of Defense said in a statement, “During last night, attempts by the Kiev regime to carry out terrorist attacks with drones against sites in Russian territory were thwarted”.
The statement added that in the complex, “14 drones were intercepted and destroyed over the regions of Belgorod (11 drones) and Kursk (3)”.
On Wednesday, dozens of Ukrainian drones targeted Russian regions, especially energy infrastructure sites.
Since last summer, the Ukrainian army has increased its attacks with these aircraft against Russia, and has struck more Russian territory in response to Moscow’s attacks on its territory.
In addition, Ukrainian officials said on Wednesday that at least four people were killed in Russian attacks with drones and bombs last night in the Sumy and Donetsk regions in the east of the country.
