A terrorist attack in the Turkish capital
On Sunday morning, the Turkish capital, Ankara, witnessed a terrorist attack targeting the General Directorate of Security of the Ministry of Interior.
According to CNN Turk, an explosion occurred near Kızılay Square in Ankara at around 9:30 AM.
It was reported that police forces and ambulance teams rushed to the scene, and gunshots were heard after the explosion.
Videos circulated on social media showing police cars near the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior, and the streets leading to the area were closed.
The Turkish Minister of the Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, wrote on X, the details of the attack, as two terrorists carried out the attack when they were on board a light vehicle in front of the entrance gate of the General Directorate of Security.
He explained that one of the terrorists blew himself up, the other terrorist was dealt with, and two police officers were slightly injured during the exchange of fire.
