In Hasakah Governorate, northeastern Syria, the US military completely withdrew from the Tal Baydar military base and dismantled its observation tower at the Jabal Abdul Aziz Observatory south of the governorate.

Footage showed the two sites devoid of any US presence, at a time of escalating tensions within the US-backed Syria Democratic Forces (SDF), which are undergoing a delicate phase of organizational disintegration and leadership divisions, according to field reports.

According to local sources, US military trucks were spotted leaving the two bases in the early hours of the morning, heading towards the Walid border crossing with Iraq, via the oil road south of Hasakah city.

As of press time, no official statement had been issued by the international coalition to clarify whether the withdrawal was permanent or tactical.

This move comes just days after a similar withdrawal from a military base near Rmelan, raising speculation about a potential redeployment of US forces in northeastern Syria amid escalating tensions in the region.

Meanwhile, some reports said that there are a deep internal crisis plaguing the SDF, particularly after escalating disputes between Kurdish and Arab leaders, specifically within the so-called Deir al Zour Military Council.

Data indicates an increase in rebellion and defection among local recruits, particularly in the areas of Raqqa and Deir al Zour.

The withdrawal of US forces from these vital locations, coupled with the cracks within the SDF, may signal a new phase of military and political restructuring in northeastern Syria.

Amid the absence of any official clarification from the US, questions remain about the future of the US presence in the region and the extent to which these moves will impact the balance of power amid the multiplicity of local and international players.
