Sources affiliated with the Syria Democratic Forces said that the international coalition, led by the United States, arrested Thursday the new leader of the Islamic State organization “Abdullah Qardash” during a qualitative landing operation in the countryside of Deir Al Zour, northeastern Syria.

According to the sources, “Abdullah Qardash, the new leader of ISIS, and the successor of Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi, was arrested in the town of Al Zir in the eastern countryside of Deir Al Zour after an airdrop that lasted for hours, which is the largest in terms of the number of participating elements, planes and the duration of the landing”.
