A major Ukrainian attack with dozens of drones on different Russian regions
Andrei Bocharov, governor of the Volgograd region, said on Sunday that a drone attack launched from Ukraine overnight briefly set fire to an oil refinery in the southern Russian region.
Bocharov said on the local administration’s Telegram channel, “The fire was extinguished, there were no injuries”.
The Russian channel “Baza” on Telegram, which is close to the security services, published pictures of flames rising in the dark sky above what appeared to be an industrial building with a high chimney.
Drone attacks on energy facilities inside Russian territory have become more frequent in recent months.
Officials in Kiev say they are launching the attacks to undermine Russia’s war effort and retaliate for Moscow’s strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
