The war in Gaza hasn’t stopped yet… 8 Palestinians were killed in violent Israeli shelling
iThe Israeli army killed 8 Palestinians, including a child, and wounded others at dawn on Wednesday in shelling that targeted tents, a house and a gathering of citizens in the Gaza Strip, as part of ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement since last October.
Medical sources reported that the bodies of 8 Palestinians and a number of wounded people arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli shelling.
The shelling targeted tents for displaced people in the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
Artillery shelling also targeted a house in the al Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City, and a street in the al Zaytoun neighborhood south of the city, according to witnesses.
On Wednesday, the Israeli army claimed that an officer in the reservists was seriously wounded by gunfire from the northern Gaza Strip.
The army said in a statement that the incident took place last night, during an operational activity of the forces of the Iskendaruni Brigade (3) in the Yellow Line area in the northern Gaza Strip, claiming that “terrorists fired at an IDF force”.
“An officer in the reserve forces was seriously injured as a result of the shooting, and was taken to the hospital, and his family was informed,” the statement added.
Israeli tanks responded to the source of the fire, the statement said, while warplanes launched airstrikes in the area in parallel with artillery shelling.
Since the agreement came into force, the Israeli army has killed 526 Palestinians and wounded 1,447 others in its daily violations of the agreement, according to official figures.
