French President: The path to recognize a Palestinian state won’t be stopped by attacks, population displacement, or attempts to annex territory
French President Emmanuel Macron, in a bold statement warned Israel on Tuesday against any attack or attempt to annex territory, stressing that such actions wouldn’t stand in the way of recognition of the state of Palestine.
“No attack, no annexation attempt, and no population displacement will stop the momentum we launched with the Crown Prince and joined by many partners,” Macron said, referring to a discussion he held with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Macron also criticized the US decision not to grant visas to Palestinian officials to attend the UN General Assembly, saying it was “unacceptable… We call for this measure to be reversed and for Palestinian representation to be allowed in accordance with the headquarters agreement”.
