Iran announced on Sunday the establishment of a defense council aimed at strengthening its military capabilities after its recent war with Israel, Iranian state television reported.
“The Supreme National Security Council approved the establishment of the National Defense Council,” the Iranian state television reported.
Iranian State television added that the new council will be headed by the president of the Islamic Republic and will include commanders of the armed forces and relevant ministries.
The Defense Council is studying defense plans and centrally strengthening the capabilities of the armed forces.
