Baku hosted a meeting between Turkish and Israeli officials to avoid confrontation in Syria
Türkiye announced that a meeting took place with Israeli officials to prevent clashes in Syria.
This comes when the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that it held what was described as “the first technical meeting” between Turkish and Israeli officials in Azerbaijan, with the aim of discussing the establishment of a mechanism to de-escalate tensions and prevent unwanted incidents on Syrian territory.
A Turkish Ministry of Defense spokesperson said during a press briefing that Israel must immediately cease its provocative attacks that undermine Syria’s territorial integrity and threaten its security and stability, stressing that this move comes within the framework of efforts to prevent escalation and ensure regional stability.
