Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro confirmed that Venezuela is not a colony of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, or anyone else, but rather it’s building its own model of economic independence.

In statements during the meeting with the Economic Council, Tuesday, Maduro indicated that the country has its own economic development, noting that “a clown like Javier Milei (President of Argentina) is destroying the economy of our sister country Argentina”.

He also stressed that Venezuela is united with ALBA (Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Latin America) and with its brothers from Cuba.

“Cuba knows that it can count on us to move forward, as is the case for the entire Latin America and Caribbean region,” he continued.

Maduro approved several measures, most notably, “approving 13 engines of the economy and production in the country to be developed during the new term, and appointing those responsible for production engines”.

The National Economic Council urged to submit an action plan in line with measures to enhance the export substitution plan through domestic production, as well as the investment and credit plan, giving priority to the country’s real economy, a plan to generate income in convertible currencies, improving the public procurement plan and the country’s tax development plan to continue expanding the tax collection base with the aim of putting an end to tax evasion.
