Israel started the new year by committing a horrible massacre in northern Gaza
More than 17 Palestinians, including children, were killed and others were injured in the early hours of 2025, due to Israeli bombing of various parts of the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to ongoing genocide since October 7, 2023.
The Israeli army killed two Palestinians (a woman and a child) at dawn on Wednesday in a bombing of the al Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.
Eyewitnesses said that an Israeli drone bombed the Abu Zaher family home in Block 9 in al Bureij camp in the first five minutes of the new year, resulting in two Palestinian martyrs and a number of wounded.
Witnesses added that Israeli artillery shelled the eastern and northern areas of the Bureij and Nuseirat camps amid heavy gunfire.
On Wednesday morning, the Israeli army warned in a statement area of the Bureij camp to evacuate immediately, after the Qassam Brigades announced in a statement that it had launched a barrage of rockets towards the settlement of Netivot in the Negev, southern Israel.
In the southern Gaza Strip, Israeli artillery shelled the town of al Fakhari, southeast of Khan Yunis, and the al Mawasi area, west of Rafah, amid heavy gunfire and flares, according to eyewitnesses.
A medical source in Gaza revealed that a number of injuries arrived at the European Gaza Hospital east of Khan Yunis following an Israeli bombardment that targeted the Abu Taima family home in the town of al Fakhari.
In the north, the number of Palestinians killed in an Israeli bombardment that targeted the home of the Taroush family in Jabaliya at dawn on Wednesday rose to 15 people, including children, after 8 bodies were recovered, according to a statement from a medical source at the Baptist Hospital.
Earlier, the same source said that 7 Palestinians, most of them children, were killed when Israel bombed the home of the Taroush family.
Eyewitnesses said that a number of Israeli artillery shells fell in the al Nazla area, west of Jabaliya, at the same time as the army carried out operations to blow up buildings and residential areas in Beit Lahia and Jabaliya camp.
Witnesses added that Israeli artillery also shelled various areas of the Saftawi neighborhood, northwest of Gaza City.
