Israeli Channel 14: A land barrier will soon be built on the border with Syria
Israeli Channel 14 who is close to the government reported that the security authorities are currently working on establishing a large land barrier on the border with Syria, as part of seriously dealing with potential threats coming from that region.
The channel indicated that the aim of the new barrier is to complicate the attempts of what it described as “terrorists” to enter Israel in the future, as the security system considers it an existing threat across the Syrian border, in addition to other challenges related to the eastern border.
According to the report, the barrier will consist of a double fence, trenches, and earth mounds, and will be reinforced with advanced technological means and intelligence gathering techniques, in addition to the current fence.
The length of the border between Israel and Syria is approximately 92 kilometers.
Channel 14 confirmed that engineering work will be carried out in the area to further strengthen the fortifications, with the aim of preventing what it called “enemy forces and hostile elements” from infiltrating into Israeli territory.
Reports indicate that the Israeli army is working on this project in the field, which comes as part of “learning lessons” from the security loopholes that were discovered after the border wall breach incident on October 7.
