Israel conduct an airstrike on the southern suburb of Beirut while Hezbollah targeted an Israeli intelligence HQ

The death toll from an Israeli airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs has risen to at least eight dead and 59 wounded, according to an updated tally announced by the Lebanese Health Ministry.

The Lebanese Health Ministry reported in a statement that “eight people were martyred” as a result of the raid, while hospitals have so far received 59 wounded, “eight of whom are in critical condition”.

The statement said, “The Israeli enemy’s raid on the southern suburbs of Beirut led, according to an initial toll, to the martyrdom of three people,” noting that hospitals “have received seventeen wounded people so far”.

According to the Israeli army radio who quoted an Israeli security official as saying that the target of the attack is Ibrahim Akil, head of the operations department in Hezbollah.

The Israeli army confirmed that it carried out a targeted strike in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Friday.

A thick cloud of smoke was seen rising over the Lebanese capital Beirut on Friday after residents in the southern suburbs of the city said they heard a loud explosion.

On the other hand, Hezbollah said on Friday, that it had bombed a military intelligence headquarters in northern Israel responsible for assassinations, in the first operation it has claimed since an Israeli raid on its stronghold near Beirut.

Hezbollah said in a statement that its fighters targeted the main intelligence headquarters in the northern region responsible for assassinations in the Mishar base with volleys of Katyusha rockets, in response to the Israeli enemy’s attacks on the steadfast southern villages and safe homes.
