The United States and Britain confirmed in a joint statement that their forces launched new strikes on Tuesday dawn on the Houthis in Yemen in response to the attacks that the Yemenis continue to launch on navigation in the waters located off the coast of the poorest country in the Peninsula. Arabian island.

The two countries said in a statement issued jointly by Australia, Bahrain, Canada and the Netherlands, the four countries that participated in supporting this attack, that their forces launched a new round of equal and necessary strikes on eight Houthi targets in Yemen in response to the ongoing Houthi attacks against international navigation and trade, as well as against ships crossing the Red Sea.

The Pentagon said that US and British forces carried out a new round of strikes on Monday in Yemen, targeting an underground storage site belonging to the Houthis as well as missile and surveillance capabilities used by the Iran-allied group against shipping in the Red Sea.

The Houthis, who control the most populated areas in Yemen, say their attacks come in solidarity with Palestinians who are under attack by Israel in Gaza.

Houthi attacks are disrupting global shipping and raising fears of global inflation.

It also exacerbated fears that the repercussions of the war between Israel and Hamas would destabilize the Middle East.

In the latest response, US and British forces carried out eight strikes with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada and the Netherlands, according to a joint statement by the six countries.

“These precision strikes aim to disrupt and weaken the capabilities used by the Houthis to threaten global trade and the lives of innocent sailors,” the joint statement said.

British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps said in a statement that the strikes were carried out in self-defense.

“This action will deal another blow to their limited stocks and their ability to threaten global trade,” Shapps said.

But multiple US strikes over the past month have not yet succeeded in stopping Houthi attacks on shipping traffic.

Earlier, the Yemeni Ansar Allah group announced on Monday evening that US and British forces had resumed bombing the capital, Sana’a.

The Houthi-affiliated Ansar Allah website said in breaking news on its website, “American-British aggression against Sanaa”.
