Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy said on Wednesday evening that the Northern Front (concerned with the confrontations with Hezbollah in Lebanon) had agreed to a variety of plans to continue the military confrontation.

This came during an assessment of the situation he conducted with the Commander of the Northern Command, Major General Ori Gordin, and other leaders, according to an Israeli army statement published on its website.

Halevy said, “Our first mission is to return the population safely, and this will take time,” referring to about 60,000 residents of northern Israel who were evacuated from their homes, due to confrontations with Hezbollah.

He added, “Today (Wednesday) we agreed to a variety of plans to continue, and we must be prepared to attack if necessary”.

Halevy considered that the Israeli army and the Northern Command are at a very high level of preparedness.

He continued, “So far, the process here has been managed in a correct and strict manner, and this is how it must continue”.

He added, “The residents of the northern region of Israel will not be returned to Israel without security and a feeling of security”.

Earlier on Wednesday evening, the Israeli army said that three enemy drones were detected that crossed from Lebanon and landed in the Mount Dov area (Shebaa Farms),” without further details about whether or not there were casualties.

In a related context, Israeli Army Radio said, on Wednesday evening, that more than 10 rockets were launched from Lebanon towards the Kiryat Shmona settlement in northern Israel.
