The White House: We don’t expect an imminent agreement with Iran on reviving the nuclear agreement
The White House spokeswoman Karen Jean-Pierre revealed that the United States doesn’t expect an imminent agreement with Iran on reviving the nuclear deal.
Indirect talks between Tehran and Washington to revive the nuclear agreement, from which the United States withdrew in May 2018, have been taking place in the Austrian capital since April of last year.
Karen Jean-Pierre’s statements came at a press briefing, during which she also spoke about the ongoing Russian attacks against Ukraine.
The White House spokeswoman accused Iran of lying, against the backdrop of Tehran’s denial that Moscow used Iranian-made drones to launch attacks on Ukraine.
Jean-Pierre said there was “widespread evidence that Russia used Iranian drones, against both military and civilian targets there”.
“You have all seen the reports of an Iranian drone strike this morning in downtown Kyiv,” she told reporters.
However, Iran continues to lie about this”.
And on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that his country “hasn’t provided weapons to any party in the Ukraine war and will not do so”.
