Corruption hits the Master of the Elysee!
The case of referring Justice Minister Eric Dupont Moretti to the French Court of Justice in a conflict of interest case, and the Alexis Koehler trial case, sparked a wide political controversy in France and put President Emmanuel Macron in trouble.
Marine Le Pen, the far-right French politician, said: “The French president has always been surrounded by figures whose integrity is questionable and accused of blackmail, slippage and conflict of interests”.
Le Pen considered that the French president took a “grave responsibility” by keeping his Secretary-General in office, but the National Rally Party doesn’t stress the need for judicial observers to resign, since its leaders were accused of “embezzling public funds” in the European Parliament.
For her part, the head of the parliamentary group in the France Proud movement, Mathilde Baneau, said, sarcastically at Alexis Koehler, that he “has fallen into the hands of the patrol and will have to repay his debt”.
French President Emmanuel Macron refused to comment on the case of referring Justice Minister Eric Dupont Moretti to the French Court of Justice, and Macron also refused to comment on the issue of the opening of an investigation by the French Public Prosecutor specializing in financial crimes, against his chief adviser, Alexis Koehler for illegally pursuing interests.
The Elysee only posted the statement of Alexis Koehler’s lawyer, “to isolate the presidency from the setbacks of the chief of state staff”.
