Russia responds to EU restrictions with countermeasures
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced countermeasures to the European Union’s recent restrictive measures against Russian individuals and entities, under which it expanded the list of bans on entry of representatives of Union institutions into Russia.
A statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry said: “In response to the successive restrictive measures against Russian individuals and legal entities, a decision was taken to expand the list of representatives of EU institutions and its member states, who are prohibited from entering the territory of our country.
A note in this regard was delivered by the Russian Foreign Ministry to the European Union delegation in Russia.
The Russian statement explained that the restrictions apply in particular to the “high military command of the European Union, high-ranking officials of law enforcement agencies of the member states of the European Union, and representatives of European trade organizations in the production of arms and military equipment involved in the supply of military products to Ukraine”.
The Russian Foreign Ministry warned the “initiators of anti-Russian measures” that any unfriendly actions against Russia would constantly be met with a “severe response from us”.
