For the second time with Russian mediation, a ceasefire was declared in Qamishli
Informed sources confirmed that the warring factions in the city of Qamishli, with the mediation of the Russian military police and leaders of the “Syria Democratic Forces”, have reached a ceasefire until Saturday morning.
The sources stated, “As a result of the intervention of the Russian police and leaders of the Syria Democratic Forces as mediators to stop the ongoing clashes in the city of Qamishli, Syria 4 days ago, and after a meeting was held between the two parties, they reached a decision on Friday evening to cease fire”.
“The agreement was signed by the leaders of the engaged parties from the internal security forces of the Asayish and the units of the Syrian National Defense of the Syrian government, starting from 6 pm on Friday evening until 10 am on Saturday (Syria local time)”.
The sources indicated that the leadership of the Asayish Internal Security Forces instructed all its members in the lines of contact to abide by the ceasefire decision.
It is noteworthy that the Russian police were able to mediate between the warring parties and reach an agreement early in the dawn of Thursday, which included a complete ceasefire, the removal of all armed manifestations in the city, the return to normal life, and the deployment of constant Russian patrols in the vicinity of a slow neighborhood, and foot-footed patrols in the city’s streets to ensure implementation the agreement took effect immediately.
