On Saturday, the Czech government gave 18 Russian diplomats 48 hours to leave the country.
The Czech Interior Minister, Jan Hamacik, announced the expulsion of 18 Russian diplomats from the country, on suspicion of having links with the Russian special services, and gave them 48 hours to leave the country.
Local Czech media quoted the Minister of the Interior, that “18 Russian diplomats will be expelled from the country on suspicion of being officers in the Russian special services”.
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis claimed, “The reason for this move is the involvement of Russian diplomats, who are suspected of working as Russian military intelligence officers, in the 2014 bombing of an ammunition depot in Vrpetice”.
In turn, the Russian Foreign Ministry responded to the Czech statement, stressing that “Prague is well aware of what will follow the expulsion of Russian diplomats”.
