Yemen: Ansar Allah group announces a military operation with a large batch of drones against sensitive targets in Eilat and confirms the continuation of operations against Israel until the aggression on Gaza stops
The Yemeni “Ansar Allah” group affiliated to Houthis, announced, on Saturday, that it had carried out a military operation with a batch of drones, on sensitive targets in the Eilat region, southern Israel.
This came in a statement issued by the military spokesman for the group’s forces, Yahya Saree, published by the group’s accounts on social media.
Yahya Saree said, “The air force of the Yemeni armed forces (affiliated with the Houthis) carried out a military operation on sensitive targets in the Umm al Rashrash area (the Arabic name for Eilat) in southern occupied Palestine, with a large batch of drones”.
He added that the operation is a victory for the Palestinian people, who are being subjected to killing, destruction and siege in the Gaza Strip.
Saree confirmed that Ansar Allah’s operations against Israel will continue until the aggression against the residents of the Gaza Strip stops.
On the other hand, a spokesman for the Houthis in Yemen said on Saturday that the group is holding talks, mediated by the Omani authority, with international parties regarding the ongoing operations in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.
The statement didn’t specify the international parties participating in the talks and didn’t mention where or when they would be held, but it may indicate that the Houthis may be willing to reduce the escalation.
Spokesman Muhammad Abdel Salam stressed that the Houthis’ position with Gaza isn’t subject to bargaining, and that enemy ships (Israel) or those heading to its ports will remain vulnerable to targeting until the aggression stops, the siege on Gaza is lifted, and humanitarian aid continues to flow into the Strip.
He said that “any real steps that respond to the humanitarian situation in Gaza by bringing in food and medicine would contribute to reducing the escalation”.
The spokesman added, “We emphasized to everyone that the operations are to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and that we cannot stand idly by in the face of the aggression and siege that the Strip is being subjected to”.
The Houthis launched attacks on ships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea in protest against the Israeli bombing and invasion of the Gaza Strip, which killed nearly 19,000 Palestinians.
The Houthi attacks prompted some shipping companies to halt their operations through the Red Sea, a vital waterway for global trade and energy shipments between Europe and Asia.
