With the White House declaring that Lebanon isn’t included in the ceasefire with Iran… Violent Israeli raids and attacks targeting Lebanon
Hundreds were killed and wounded on Wednesday in a series of intense Israeli airstrikes targeting large areas of Lebanon, in an escalation described as one of the most violent attacks in months.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said that Israel is disregarding all regional and international efforts to stop the war, calling on “Lebanon’s friends” to intervene to help stop the Israeli attacks.
Salam added that the Israeli attacks targeted densely populated residential neighborhoods, while the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that dozens had been killed and hundreds wounded as a result of the simultaneous raids.
Lebanese Health Minister Rakan Nasser Eddine announced that hundreds of people were killed and wounded across Lebanon as a result of Israeli strikes.
Other sources indicated that the number of dead and wounded exceeded 300, a figure that is still unconfirmed.
In response, the Israeli army announced on Wednesday that it had carried out what it described as the largest coordinated bombing campaign on Lebanon since Hezbollah became involved in the war on March 2.
The Israeli military said in a statement that it targeted about 100 command centers, military sites and infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley and southern Lebanon.
He added that this strike is the largest against the party’s positions since the start of the war against Iran that began on February 28.
Despite the United States and Iran announcing a two-week ceasefire agreement starting Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the truce doesn’t include Lebanon.
Axios news website, citing White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt, reported on Wednesday that Lebanon is not part of the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.
