The United States continues to send its military reinforcements to the oilfield areas, which are controlled by the Kurdish units, in northeastern Syria.
According to local sources in the Syrian governorate of Deir Ezzour, American forces entered last night from the Al Waleed border crossing with Iraq, heading to the oil fields south of the Hasakeh province.
The reinforcement’s convoy of about 100 trucks included four-wheel drive vehicles, ambulances, trucks loaded with buses and fuel tanks.
In early December, a US reinforcement’s convoy of 150 trucks entered Syrian territory from the Al Waleed and Zamalka crossings, heading to the oil fields of Deir Ezzor.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump vowed not to allow the terrorist “ISIS” organization to seize oil fields in northern Syria.
Washington has repeatedly announced that it will keep some of its forces in Syria, to protect oil fields, which Moscow accuses of stealing Syrian oil.
