US Intelligence: New Administration Forces bears responsibility for recent killings in the Syrian Coast

A report issued by the US Department of National Intelligence stated that Syrian Interim Government forces, in collaboration with jihadist groups, are responsible for committing massacres in western Syria.
The report, published by the agency as part of its annual worldwide threat assessment, indicated that armed forces affiliated with the Interim Government, led by Hay’at Tahrir al Sham (HTS), along with elements of the Guardians of Religion organization and other jihadist groups, carried out extrajudicial violence in northwestern Syria during March 2025.
The report explained that these attacks primarily targeted religious minorities and resulted in the deaths of more than 1,000 people, including Alawite and Christian civilians.
The report added that the political changes in Syria have led to a state of ongoing instability, which could provide a suitable environment for the return of ISIS and other terrorist groups to the scene.
It also indicated that some jihadist groups have refused to integrate with the new government forces, while ISIS is planning to launch attacks against the Syrian Interim Government.
It’s noteworthy that in December 2024, the Syrian armed opposition managed to enter the capital, Damascus, and seize control of the state institutions, which led to overthrow Bashar al Assad.
In January 2025, Ahmed al Sharaa was announced as the president of the transitional period in Syria.
