US-British Attack against Yemen
The United States and Britain launched an attack against the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, in addition to the governorates of Hodeidah, Saada, Dhamar, Taiz, and Hajjah, according to what was reported by the official Yemeni Saba agency.
According to Yemeni news agency, the US-British bombing focused on al Dailami Air Base adjacent to Sanaa International Airport, north of Sanaa, and it was subjected to 4 raids.
The attack also targeted the vicinity of Hodeidah Airport, areas in the Zabid District in the coastal Hodeidah Governorate on the Red Sea, west of Yemen, and Kahlan Camp, east of the city of Saada in the north, in addition to the local Abs Airport in Hajjah Governorate, in the northwest.
The bombing also targeted Taiz International Airport, and the 22nd Brigade camp in the al Hawban and al Jand areas, north of the city of Taiz, southwest of the country.
The official Yemeni agency also indicated that the sites that were subjected to the “US-British aggression” on Friday morning were previously bombed by the Saudi coalition dozens of times, and have been out of readiness since the beginning of the war on Yemen, in 2015.
Following these attacks, the US-British raids were renewed, targeting the Takhiya area in Saada, northern Yemen, and the Bajil district in Hodeidah, in the west.
According to US military official announced that the attacks “targeted 12 sites in Yemen, and were launched via aircraft, Tomahawk missiles, and submarines”.
In the same context, NBC quoted US officials as saying that the US and British armies directed strikes against targets in multiple locations in Yemen, using fighter jets and Tomahawk cruise missiles, launched from naval ships.
For its part, the BBC reported that four Royal Air Force Typhoon aircraft launched from Cyprus participated in the aggression against Yemen.
The bombing targeted more than 60 targets in 16 locations, and used more than 100 bombs and missiles of various types, according to a statement issued by the Commander of the Air Component of the Central Air Forces and the Joint Forces, General Alex Grinkwich.
The White House also announced in a statement that 10 countries participated in the aggression, which are, in addition to the United States and Britain, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand and South Korea.
In addition, Politico newspaper quoted a US defense official as saying, “The United States and Britain carried out strikes against targets in Yemen, with support from Australia, the Netherlands, Bahrain, and Canada”.
Regarding this support, US officials told the New York Times that each of these countries participates in providing logistical, intelligence, and other forms of support, adding that attack aircraft were launched from bases in the region, and the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower bombed targets in Yemen.
In turn, Fox News quoted US official as saying that Washington and London led these strikes, but they wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Australia, Bahrain, Canada and the Netherlands.
On the other hand, the Deputy Foreign Minister in the Sana’a government, Hussein al Ezzi, stressed that the United States and Britain must be prepared to pay a heavy price and bear all the dire consequences of their blatant aggression, after Yemen was subjected to a widespread aggressive attack by US and British ships, submarines, and warplanes.
In turn, the Deputy Chairman of the Ansar Allah Movement’s Media Authority, Nasr al Din Amer, explained that “the Yemeni Armed Forces will officially announce any Yemeni response to the aggression”.
At the same time, the Yemeni soldiers on the West Coast sent a message to the leader of “Ansar Allah,” Abdul Malik al Houthi, in which they expressed their readiness to fight “the battle of the promised conquest and holy jihad,” pledging “loyalty to our faithful, mujahid, patient, steadfast people, and our oppressed, oppressed nation”.
It’s noteworthy that Sanaa confirmed that it’s very prepared for any US-British attack, in the wake of reports that spoke of the expected aggression against it by Washington and London.
Abdul Malik al Houthi has previously warned that “any American attack on Yemen won’t remain without a response,” stressing that Sanaa is “ready for any direct confrontation with Washington”.
The Ansar Allah leader also hoped, in the speech he delivered Thursday, that the Arab and Islamic countries “never get involved in the aggression against Yemen, and that they leave the Americans and the British alone”.
