US President Donald Trump has expressed high expectations for the outcome of the first official meeting of the Peace Council to be held in Washington next Thursday, saying that member states have pledged more than $5 billion to support humanitarian efforts and the reconstruction of Gaza.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump spoke about his global ambitions, his administration’s success in freeing Israeli hostages, and offering an ambitious vision for civilians in Gaza.

After preaching the possibility of world peace, Trump described the Peace Council as the most important international body in history.

He said: “The Peace Council has unlimited potential… Last October, a plan to end the conflict in Gaza was launched, and our vision was unanimously adopted by the UN Security Council… Shortly thereafter, we facilitated humanitarian access at record speed, ensuring the release of all hostages, both living and dead”.

“Last month, some twenty prominent founding members joined me in Davos, Switzerland, to officially celebrate its founding, to present an ambitious vision for Gaza’s civilians and, ultimately, beyond Gaza – world peace,” he added.

Trump indicated that he would participate in the peace council meeting at the Donald J. Trump Institute for Peace in Washington, DC.

He stressed that he will announce that member states have pledged more than $5 billion to support humanitarian efforts and the reconstruction of Gaza, and have allocated thousands of personnel to the International Stabilization Force and local police to maintain security and peace for the people of Gaza.

Trump called on Hamas to fulfill its commitment to complete and immediate disarmament, and ended his post with boasting: “The Peace Council will prove to be the most important international body in history, and I am honored to serve as its president”.

The announcement comes in the context of heightened international anticipation for the meeting, which is considered a crucial step toward implementing Trump’s plan for the reconstruction of Gaza after a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in late 2025.

The meeting will bring together heads of state and high-level delegations from 27 founding countries, including representation at the presidential level, at the level of prime ministers, as well as foreign ministers and high-level delegations, as well as observers from other countries.
