Trump: I will leave the White House if Joe Biden is officially confirmed as winning the US election
The US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he will leave the White House if Joe Biden is officially confirmed as winning the US election, but he repeated that he may not admit defeat.
When asked if he would leave the White House if the Electoral College confirmed Biden’s victory, Trump said: “Of course I will. You know that”.
But he continued, “If they do that, they will have made a mistake,” adding, “It will be very difficult to admit defeat”.
Trump said, commenting on the election result, that it was “massive fraud,” without providing any evidence.
He described the infrastructure of the American voting system as being similar to “a third world country”.
Earlier Thursday, Trump wrote on Twitter, “These were 100% rigged elections”.
On Wednesday, Trump called on his supporters to work on reversing the outcome of the US presidential election, claiming that it had been “rigged” to secure Biden’s victory.
Trump addressed his Republican supporters in Pennsylvania over the phone, saying, “We have to turn the election result”.
“This election was rigged,” he added, reiterating some conspiracy theories about Biden’s victory that fell in most US courts.
On the other hand, US President-elect Joe Biden warned Wednesday that Americans “will not allow” not to respect the outcome of the presidential elections that were held on November 3.
