Trump confirms his intention to visit Moscow

US President Donald Trump said on Monday he would visit Moscow in the future, provided the conflict in Ukraine ends.
He said his attendance at the Victory Day celebrations on May 9 was premature.
“It’s not going to happen anytime soon, but once things calm down, and I think they will, I’ll consider going,” Trump said during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Asked if he would attend the celebrations in Moscow on May 9, he replied, “It’s still early,” adding, “I’ll visit Moscow at the appropriate time”.
Trump indicated that he would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin “at a later time,” stressing, “We’re working to resolve this conflict, and eventually I will meet with President Putin as well”.
During the talks, French President Emmanuel Macron stressed that the seizure of frozen Russian assets isn’t possible, as its contrary to international law.
“We cannot seize these assets, and the issue of Russian assets must become part of the peace talks on Ukraine,” Macron explained.
Macron added that Paris and London have prepared a plan to ensure Kyiv’s security, which could include sending military personnel to Ukraine.
“The military won’t necessarily be on the front lines, but they will be there as a guarantee,” he said.
Earlier, Trump confirmed that he was holding important talks with Putin on ending the conflict in Ukraine, in addition to pursuing major economic projects between the United States and Russia.
