The United States is working to establish monitoring points in northern Syria
The United States will establish observation posts in northeastern Syria near the border with Turkey, as Colonel Sean Ryan told reporters at a press conference.
He added that US forces are setting up monitoring posts in northeastern Syria in order to cut back the line of terrorists who are trying to escape to Turkey across the north.
Ryan added that the US monitoring sites to be set up on the border with Turkey would provide additional transparent monitoring sites that would allow Turkey to be better protected from the terrorists.
According to Colonel Ryan, the United States has informed the Turkish side of this, adding that the US leadership is considering the places of these points now, which he cannot disclose or speak the number of them, for security reasons related to confidentiality and integrity of the US step.
The US announcement comes in the light of increased tension on the northern border with Ankara’s threat to launch a large-scale military operation in northern Syria in the eastern Euphrates areas controlled by Syrian democratic forces, which include mostly Kurdish elements which Turkey classify them as terrorist organizations that is backed by the United States.
