The “Turkstream” project for transport the Russian natural gas is nearing completion
The spokeswoman of the Turkish-Russian “Turkstream” project Aslı Esen said: “The project is in its final phase, and it will enter the service at the end of this year, according to the schedule”.
This came at a press conference in the German capital Berlin on Saturday on the project, which will transport the Natural gas from Russia to Turkey and Europe.
Esen pointed to the completion of more than 70 percent of the construction work of the natural gas receiving station in the coastal town of Kıyıköy, at Kırklareli Province, northwest of Turkey, the final phase of the project.
It also pointed to the completion of all work related to the part passing from the sea, from the Turkish pipeline and connecting all parts of the line to each other.
She confirmed the start of tests on the safety and security of the pipeline, and expressed full confidence in its entry into service by the end of 2019, as planned.
And the “Turkstream”; a project to build two pipelines with a capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters of natural gas each yea, from Russia to Turkey through the Black Sea, feeding the first pipeline Turkey, and the second Eastern and Southern Europe.
