The Turkish President describes Netanyahu as a “modern Führer”
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “the modern Fuhrer,” stressing that Western countries “ignore his crimes”.
Erdogan said, Friday, during the ceremony of commissioning military ships at a shipyard in the Yalova province, southwestern Türkiye, “They (the West) silently look at the barbarism that amounts to genocide against the Palestinian people at the hands of the modern Fuhrer, Netanyahu, and his team, who are obsessed with blood and hatred”.
Erdogan has previously repeatedly described Netanyahu as an “executioner” and “murderer,” and stated that he committed genocide in the Gaza Strip in order to prolong his political career and evade the trial that began against him in Israel. Ankara also refuses to recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization.
Earlier, a Turkish diplomatic source said that all Israeli diplomats, including the ambassador, left Türkiye on October 19.
On November 4, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the decision to summon its ambassador to Tel Aviv, Şakir Torunlar, to Ankara for consultations regarding the events in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Turkish decision makes Ankara closer to Hamas.
The Turkish President also stressed that “those who caused a massacre that claimed the lives of about 25,000 innocent people in the Gaza Strip, most of whom were women and children, will face the ‘severe consequences’ of their actions”.
Erdogan stressed, “those who turn a blind eye to the massacres and atrocities committed by Israel will feel deep regret”.
He added, “Frankly, Western countries and international security institutions, which were subjected to their last bad test regarding the Gaza issue, no longer have any credibility”.
Erdogan continued, “Those who judge human rights and freedoms turn a blind eye to the children, infants and women who have been brutally killed over the past 105 days, since the start of the Israeli attacks on October 7, 2023”.
He continued: “Just as happened in Iraq, Bosnia, Syria, Yemen, Myanmar, Somalia and Afghanistan, the institutions responsible for ensuring global security have failed and have suffered a serious loss in their reputation”.
On the other hand, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan affirmed his country’s determination to continue combating terrorism resolutely “until its swamps in Syria and Iraq are completely drained”.
The ceremony in which Erdogan gave these statements was of handing over 4 new ships to the Turkish Navy at the Yalova state arsenal, west of the country.
Erdogan said, “We’ll continue our fight against terrorism with determination until its swamps in Syria and Iraq are completely drained”.
Regarding the development of the Turkish defense industries, he stated, “Today we are not only handing over our ships to our naval forces, but rather we are handing over the first naval drone in the world with electronic warfare capabilities”.
He pointed out that the defense industry budget has increased 16-fold, from $5.5 billion in 2002, to about $90 billion currently.
President Erdogan added that each ship delivered will increase the strength of the Turkish Navy even more.
He continued, “The combat support and naval supply ship TCG Derya is the second largest ship after TCG Anadolu, where the process of supplying fuel to the floating units will be carried out quickly”.
He pointed out that the fifth ship of the MİLGEM project, “TCG İstanbul,” is the first Turkish frigate manufactured with local capabilities.
Erdogan added, “We developed, with our own capabilities, various radar, close air defense and electronic warfare systems and integrated them into this ship”.
He added, “Our logistical support ship, TCG Arif Ekmekçi, which we put into service today will provide fuel, fresh water, and food needs for the fighting elements”.
He stressed that the unmanned ship, “MARLIN SİDA”, will carry out, without a pilot and fully independent, intelligence, reconnaissance and surveillance missions, warfare on the surface of the sea, electronic support and electronic attack missions.
President Erdogan stressed that they are carrying out the projects keeping in mind the slogan of Commander Hayreddin Barbaros when he said, “He who rules the seas rules the world”.
He explained, “With this concept, we have completed many projects to ensure the security of the ‘Blue Homeland,’ and the percentage of manufacturing through local efforts has reached 80% in those projects”.
He added that they not only build ships, but also produce the sensors they need, useful payloads, weapons and ammunition.
The Turkish President stated that while only 62 defense projects were implemented in our country in 2002, today the number exceeds 850 projects.
He continued, “The defense industry has become one of the sectors that makes the highest contribution to the Turkish economy through more than 3,500 companies and more than 80,000 employees.
“We’ve also become a country that meets the needs of friendly and brotherly countries for land and sea vehicles,” Erdogan added.
President Erdogan noted that Türkiye sold 230 defense products to 185 countries in 2023, achieving exports worth $5.5 billion.
He pointed out that Türkiye has become among the first 3 or 4 countries in the world to produce drones and armed ones.
He stressed that Türkiye succeeded in achieving this independently of the support of the great powers, and despite the difficulties imposed by global suppliers and the secret and public ban on it.
