On Wednesday, the Turkish parliament approved the extension of sending military forces outside the country for an additional year, to eliminate possible attacks against the country by terrorist organizations in Iraq and Syria.
This came during a session of the Parliament’s General Assembly on the presidential memo regarding extending the period of sending Turkish military forces to conduct military operations to pursue terrorists in both Iraq and Syria, as Parliament agreed to extend it for one year, starting from October 30th.
“Turkey has been proactively working for nearly 40 years to hunt down the PKK terrorist organization abroad and at home, and is fighting all kinds of terrorist organizations,” said Kamil Ayden, a deputy from Erzurum State in the Turkish National Movement Party.
On October 8, 2019, the Turkish Parliament approved the extension of the mandate granted to the President of the Republic regarding operations outside the borders in Iraq and Syria for a year, starting from the 30th of the same month.
