The Times newspaper indicated that “the Pentagon tacitly agreed that Ukraine would launch long-range attacks on targets inside Russia,” explaining that “the Pentagon revised its assessment of the threats of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, including its assessment of whether the arms shipments sent To Kiev, which may lead to a military confrontation between Russia and NATO.

The Pentagon’s approval to launch Ukrainian attacks in the Russian depth is an important development in the nine-month military operation between Ukraine and Russia, and it is now likely that Washington will provide Kiev with long-range weapons.

Earlier, the US Deputy Secretary of Defense, Kathleen Hicks, pointed out that “the United States doesn’t face problems in fulfilling arms sales to Taiwan because of the security assistance it provided to Ukraine this year,” stressing that “there is great support from Congress to strengthen the base”, defense industry, which will be critical to the United States’ ability to continue to support arms sales to allies and partners.
