
Musk accuses the Jewish League ADL, which specializes in combating anti-Semitism, of causing huge losses to his X platform, while the ADL accuses him of anti-Semitism.
According to what the Times of Israel newspaper, the Jewish League ADL called for a temporary boycott of advertisements on Elon Musk’s X platform, causing him huge losses, because it removed some barriers against anti-Semitic hate speech.
The association accuses Musk of repeating anti-Semitic stereotypes in his posts about Jewish donor George Soros.
It also restores accounts that trade in hate speech, according to the Israeli newspaper.
The latest episode in the hostility is Musk’s liking of a post by an Irish racist, named Keith Woods, in which he calls for banning the association on the far-right Andrew Torba, founder of the Gab website known for his extreme hostility towards Jews, also adopted Woods’ hashtag.
Musk then amplifies his call for anti-Semitism by asking his followers whether he should conduct a poll about the hashtag #BanTheADL, which is embraced by white nationalists and other extremists, the newspaper added.
Due to the losses suffered by the X platform and the 60% drop in advertising revenues, Musk threatened to file a defamation lawsuit against the ADL and sue it for $22 billion.
He expressed his dissatisfaction in a post, saying, “Since the takeover, the association has been trying to kill the platform by falsely accusing us of anti-Semitism”.
