The Telegraph newspaper published a report by its correspondent in the US, David Millward, entitled “Hunter Biden used his father’s name to pressure a Chinese businessman, according to whistleblower allegations”.
The report quotes what was stated in the whistleblower report that Hunter, son of US President Joe Biden, said, while I am sitting with my father… I was pressuring a Chinese businessman about a proposed energy deal.
“I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment that was made wasn’t fulfilled,” the report said.
“If I get a call or a text from anyone other than you Z or the chairman of the board, I will make sure it is between the guy sitting next to me and everyone he knows and knows and I can make you regret not following my directions,” he added.
Although, it wasn’t clear whether Joe Biden, then Vice President, was actually involved in this matter, however, President Biden has long maintained that he had no knowledge of his son’s business dealings.
The story of the alleged WhatsApp messages circulated, which provides, as the writer says, the clearest indication of Hunter Biden’s exploitation of his father’s position in the government in his personal affairs, while he invited to attend an official dinner in honor of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On Tuesday, Hunter pleaded guilty to twice failing to file tax returns in 2017 and 2018.
He also avoided jail time for lying about his gun license when he was addicted to cocaine, by agreeing to a diversion program before trial.
However, Biden’s attempts to shake off the scandal hampered on Thursday by the disclosure of the testimony of Gary Shapley, the Internal Revenue Service agent who led the investigation into Biden’s tax affairs in Congress.
Shapley told the House Special Committee last month, in testimony unsealed Thursday, that the Justice Department and other officials obstructed the investigation.
Former President Donald Trump didn’t let the issue to pass unnoticed, as he took advantage to attack Biden on his private social, Truth Social, and said in one of the posts, “We now know why Hunter left… This was always about protecting Joe Biden and everyone was in Washington involved in”.
