The opening of the headquarters of the Turkish-Qatari joint forces in Doha

On Saturday, the Qatari capital, Doha, witnessed the opening of the headquarters of the Turkish-Qatari joint forces, in the presence of senior military leaders from both countries.
Turkish opening ministers, Hulusi Akar, Qatari Khalid bin Muhammad Al Attiyah, Turkish General Staff chief Yasar Guler, and his Qatari counterpart, Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanim, participated in the opening ceremony.
Minister Akar, Chief of Staff Guler and the accompanying delegation arrived at the Khaled Bin Al Walid barracks that opened shortly before in Doha.
The Qatari Minister of Defense received the Turkish military delegation, as military reception ceremonies were organized in the barracks.
After that, Akar, Guler, Al Attiyah and Al Ghanem cut the ribbon opening of the Turkish-Qatari Joint Forces headquarters.
Akar delivered a speech in the conference hall on this occasion, stressing that Turkey has always proven itself to be a friend in times of trouble.
In the presence of the ministers Akar and Al Attiyah, a cooperation protocol was signed between the two countries at the end of the ceremony.
Then the two ministers held bilateral talks attended by the chiefs of staff of the two countries.
Last November, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced from Doha the completion of construction work for the Khalid bin Walid barracks.
Relations were strengthened at the military level between Turkey and Qatar, following the outbreak of the Gulf crisis in June 2017, as the military cooperation agreement entered into force after the Turkish parliament ratified it and approved it by President Erdogan.
According to the agreement, a Turkish military base was established in Qatar, and joint military exercises were carried out.
