The New York Times: Trump linked Musk’s inappropriate behavior to drugs
The New York Times reported, citing two informed sources, that US President Donald Trump linked entrepreneur Elon Musk’s “crazy” behavior in recent days to his drug use.
In late May, the New York Times published an article alleging that Musk had increasingly used drugs during his time as one of Trump’s closest aides.
However, the businessman denied any drug use and criticized the New York Times.
The newly published article stated that “Trump, who had read a New York Times report about Elon Musk’s drug use, had been telling his aides over the past 24 hours that Musk’s crazy behavior was due to his drug use”.
On this context, Trump and Musk exchanged sharp comments on social media in the last 24 hours.
Elon Musk stated that without his support, Trump wouldn’t have won the November 2024 election, supported impeachment, and criticized the White House’s bill to cut government spending.
For his part, the US President said Musk had ceased to perform his duties conscientiously and had gone mad.
Trump threatened to terminate government contracts with Musk’s companies, including SpaceX, and cancel all forms of support.
