The Israeli army withdraws the 4th and 55th reserve brigades from Gaza
With the Israeli army withdrawing two reserve brigades from the Gaza Strip, clashes continue between Palestinian fighters and the Israeli army in various areas of the Strip, especially the city of Khan Yunis (south), and the towns of Jabalia and Beit Lahia (north).
These clashes included operations carried out by fighters of the al Qassam Brigades and al Quds Brigades, the military wings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements, in which Israeli military vehicles and troop carriers were targeted.
The clashes coincided with the continuation of violent aerial and artillery bombardment of various areas south and north of the Gaza Strip, which resulted in casualties, in addition to the continuation of bombing operations of homes and infrastructure in separate areas near the border strip of the Gaza Strip.
Earlier on Sunday, the Kan channel, affiliated with the official broadcasting authority, said that the Israeli army withdrew the 4th and 55th reserve brigades from the Gaza Strip after completing their mission.
According to the channel, the first brigade is Kiryati and it left southern Gaza last night, after thousands of its fighters participated in fierce battles against Hamas movement north and east of Khan Yunis.
As for the Second Brigade (55), it’s a paratrooper brigade and is known as “The Tip of the Spear,” and consists of five battalions.
Over the course of less than a month, the Israeli army withdrew the 7107th Battalion, a combat engineer, from Gaza, the 36th Division, one of 4 military divisions, and the 13th Battalion of the Golani Brigade.
Since last October 7, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, which as of Sunday left 26,422 dead and 65,87 injured, most of them children and women.
The war also caused massive destruction and an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, with scarce supplies of food, water and medicine, and the displacement of about two million Palestinians, or more than 85% of the population,
Since Monday, the Israeli army has launched a series of intense air and artillery raids on Khan Yunis, and in the vicinity of the hospitals located there, amid ground advances by its vehicles in the southern and western regions of the city, which prompted thousands of Palestinians to flee the city.
Thousands of Palestinians continue to flee from this city under bombardment and harsh weather conditions, in a process that the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Observatory described as forced displacement.
