The Guardian: Europe will face a second wave of Coronavirus

The Guardian newspaper quoted statements by a prominent European official, in which a siren was sounded, warning that Europe would face a second wave of Coronavirus.
“Europe must prepare for the second wave,” says Dr. Andrea Amon, head of the European Union team responsible for dealing with the crisis.
Andrea’s warning came in an exclusive interview by Daniel Bovey, the Guardian’s correspondent in Brussels, European Union headquarters.
Andrea directed her speech to the Europeans, foretaste: “Now is not the time to relax”.
Andrea is director of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, the European Union agency responsible for advising governments – including the British government – on disease control.
Looking at the characteristics of the virus, and what is now emerging from different countries in terms of small population immunity, the virus is around us…. I don’t want to draw a picture of the Day of Resurrection but I think we should be realistic.
This is not the time to fully relax”.
According to her assessment, “the possibility of a second wave of coronavirus infection throughout Europe is no longer a far-reaching theory”.
And she points out, “When and what size the second wave… is the question from my point of view”.
The newspaper commented, “The mission of the scientists they were not envious of was to report the developments of the Coronavirus epidemic.
While politicians were caught red-handed providing empty reassurances, epidemiologists, a new job description for many, appeared to be the ones who were solving the crisis, even to the detriment of them at times.
And Daniel notes that Andrea was an adviser to the German government, and says about her, “She is as frank as one might expect in her first interview with a British newspaper since the crisis began”.
The European scientist explains the bond on which her warning is based: “Given the characteristics of the virus, and what appears now from different countries in terms of population immunity – which is not encouraging and ranges between 2 percent and 14 percent, which leaves 85 percent to 90 percent of the population vulnerable – the virus is around us, and is spreading Much more than it spread in January and February”.
“I don’t want to draw a picture of the Day of Resurrection, but I think we should be realistic”.
This is not the time to fully relax”.
Andrea’s warning coincides with the start of European governments to ease the restrictions of the closure, in some countries reached the point of reopening bars and restaurants soon.
Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister, has modified his message to the British from “staying home” to “staying alert”, and is seeking to return pre-primary, first and sixth graders to schools within two weeks.
