The Tehran Times newspaper, citing sources, revealed that Iran has positioned its missiles at launch sites inside all cities that contain underground military bases, as a preemptive move in anticipation of any potential military confrontation with the United States.

In a post on X on Sunday, the Iranian newspaper reported that Iranian missiles are ready to launch, warning that any escalation could drag Washington and its allies into “dire consequences,” referring to what it described as “opening Pandora’s box”.

This comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, with US President Donald Trump threatening, during an interview with NBC News, to launch an “unprecedented strike” against Tehran if a new agreement on its nuclear program is not reached.

For his part, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed that his country rejects direct negotiations with Washington, emphasizing that any dialogue must take place through international mediators.

Iran recently rejected a letter sent by Trump to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, in which he expressed his desire to reach an understanding regarding the Iranian nuclear program.

These developments come in the context of increasing US pressure, including tightened sanctions on Tehran and international demands to curb its nuclear and missile activities, as well as continuing indirect confrontations between US forces and Iranian-backed groups in the region.
