Many Syrian who went to Turkey turned the northern Turkish city of Samsun into a new homeland.

About 30,000 refugees living in Samsun city, mostly Syrians, have been the center of the city into semi-provinces, according to the Turkish Zaman newspaper report.

The city of Samsun has some 30,000 refugees, most of whom live in the city’s center “İlkadım  district, where refugees who make up small districts in the city center open their own shops, such as cafes, restaurants, real estate offices, bakeries, mobile services and barber shops.

Perhaps the most prominent sign of Syrian presence is obvious, the number of owners of Turkish shops to use panels in Arabic to increase their profits.

Within a short time, refugees occupied houses and shops on “Istiklal” Street, which is the city’s most vibrant street, until they were concentrated in the city center.

Governor of Samsun, Osman Kaynak, said in a brief statement that the city has about 30,000 refugees and about 8,000 children are receiving their education in the city’s schools.

Worth mentioning that most of the native Turkish people of Samsun province, northern Turkey, have left the province after large numbers of Syrian refugees have been deployed and established their own businesses in the city.

The Syrians’ widespread presence in the back alleys of “Istiklal” Street, which is the city’s busiest and liveliest street, forced native Turks who are living and working in rented homes and shops left them and moved elsewhere, so, houses and shops that have become empty are now available to be invested by the Syrians in a short time.
