The founding body of the Syrian General Conference of the “Salvation Government” in the Syrian opposition issued a decision to amend the “Syrian opposition flag” and to adopt it as a formal flag for the areas under the control of the militants in the north of Syria.

According to the decision, “Based on the provisions and regulations of the Constituent Assembly and on the ordinary meeting, and on the requirements of the public interest, adopt one flag and a banner for the liberated areas of four colors, the green color from the top and white color from the center and below the black color, and writes in the middle on the color white and color The red is the phrase “There is no God but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah”.

The Syrian opposition had previously adopted the beginning of the events in Syria during the French mandate, and the green rectangle on the top and white in the middle, with three red stars and a black rectangle at the bottom, as a crown, but the growing influence of the “jihadist” components, “Nusra” and “Ahrar Al Sham” led to a decline in the presence of this world and the spread of banners “Islamic”, before the opposition decided to change its banner.

The German news agency had obtained a copy of the resolution in which one flag was adopted and a uniform banner for the areas controlled by the opposition.

During the past period, there have been several problems in the opposition areas, where gunmen from the Sham Liberation Organization formerly known as Al Nusra Front attacked demonstrators holding the flag of the revolution as a secular flag representing the French mandate period.

In addition to the official Syrian flag, there were “flags of the revolution”, as well as the flags of the fighting organizations such as the Al Nusra, Ahrar Al Sham, Jaish Al Islam, the Islamic State, the flags of the Kurdish units and the Syrian Democratic forces, Turkey, Russia, Iran, Lebanese Hezbollah and number of Iranian, Iraqi and Afghan militias.
