Syria launches a new visual identity introducing new emblem

On Thursday, the Syrian Arab Republic launched its new national emblem, which expresses its modern visual identity.
The emblem features the “Syrian Golden Eagle” in the center, with three stars rising above it, symbolizing profound meanings related to the country’s unity and the aspirations of its people.
In a statement, Syrian interim President Ahmed al Sharaa emphasized that this new identity reflects a unified Syria that rejects any form of fragmentation or division, embodying the image of a single, cohesive, and indivisible homeland.
According to the Syrian official news agency SANA, the new emblem carries five main messages:
Historical continuity: The eagle represents an extension of the 1945 design, emphasizing the authenticity of Syrian identity over time.
Representing the modern state: The punishment represents the new Syria, the state that stems from the will of its people.
Liberation and Empowerment of the People: The three stars above the eagle symbolize the freedom and empowerment of the people.
The unity of Syrian territory: affirming the complete unity of the country and its territory.
A New National Contract: Defining the relationship between the state and its people on the basis of partnership and commitment.
In his speech, Al Sharaa explained that this identity represents all Syrians and reflects a nation that derives its strength from its cultural and ethnic diversity, which is a national treasure that enriches society and does not incite conflict.
As for the new Emblem components, they include: The golden eagle, which is a symbol of strength and balance, it’s considered a historical symbol in Syria and the Arab and Islamic world.
The eagle represents the modern state that protects its people and provides them with opportunities for development and prosperity, without imposing authoritarian restrictions.
The three stars above the eagle: symbolize the liberation of the people who rise above the state, and represent their aspirations that soar high, and the state provides them with protection and support.
14 feathers on the eagle’s wings, as each feather represents one of Syria’s governorates, emphasizing the country’s geographical and political unity, and that every part of Syria has its own place in building the nation.
The eagle’s five-feathered tail represents the major regions of Syria (southern, central, northern, eastern, and western), which reflect the country’s geographic, demographic, and economic balance, thus enhancing the nation’s stability and renaissance.
The new Emblem expresses a vision of a renewed and stable Syria that rejects division, believes in the unity of its people and land, and moves toward a bright future that enhances its national and international standing.
