Qatar proposes to establish a five-party alliance with Syria, Turkey, Iraq and Iran!

Iraqi and Iranian news reports reported that the Qatar had offered the authorities in Baghdad the move to create a five-nation alliance that would play a role in the region, while the president of Iraq called on Tehran today to establish a new regional order.
The five countries reported are Qatar, Iraq, Syria, Iran and Turkey.
The Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Iraqi reports as saying: “The Qatari Foreign Minister during a visit to Baghdad, the formation of a coalition of five countries, including Iraq, Iran, Qatar, Turkey and Syria”.
The agency linked the Qatari move to the isolation Doha faces as a result of the Gulf crisis.
On the other hand, the new Iraqi President Barham Salih, on Saturday, during his first official visit to Iran, to establish a “new regime in the region”.
“It is time for a new regime in the region that meets the interests of all countries”, Saleh told a news conference in Tehran.
Although the Iraqi president stressed his belief that “Iran has an important role to play in this new system”, it is not clear yet, whether it is linked to the leaks about a five-alliance alliance in the region.
Although those who follow the political fray in the region do not rule out such a country move, they assert that the chances of success of such a move are almost non-existent due to geopolitical factors.
They say that the timing of the move, if true, with the US-led campaign to isolate Iran internationally makes it a “futile move”, especially as it is the United States that is protecting Qatar through its military base.
Observers say that “the general atmosphere in the region, which indicates that Iraq is trying to distance itself from the policy of axes and reconciliation with its Arab depth, makes Baghdad’s involvement in such a project unlikely”.
