Prince Charles is infected with Coronavirus
The office of Prince Charles announced Wednesday that the heir to the British throne and the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II is infected with the emerging coronavirus.
Clarence House, the royal court, said in a statement that the 71-year-old prince had mild symptoms from Covid-19 “but he is doing well”.
The Royal Circuit indicated that Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, who is not infected with the Covid-19 virus, are in the home quarantine in Scotland.
The statement pointed out that the Prince of Wales “showed minor symptoms but he is still in good health and has continued to work as usual from home in recent days.”
He explained that “the Duchess of Cornwall (Camilla) was in turn subjected to testing and proved not to be infected with the virus,” noting that “the Prince and the Duchess are currently sitting in a home stone in Scotland, at the advice of the government and doctors”.
The couple was examined at government health facilities (NHS) in Aberdeenshire, northern Scotland.
“It is not possible to ascertain who transmitted the infection to the emir due to the large number of events in which he participated in the framework of his public missions during the recent weeks,” added Clarence House statement.
Queen Elizabeth II, 93, and her husband, Prince Philip, 98, moved to Windsor Palace outside London on March 19.
