Netanyahu is seeking to form sudden and new alliances that will change the map of the Middle East and strengthen Israel’s position by force
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the visit of his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi next Wednesday represents a strategic step to deepen bilateral relations and expand Israel’s network of regional alliances.
Netanyahu described the visit as part of a broader vision to build a system of alliances around or within the Middle East, which includes India, Arab countries, African countries, Greece and Cyprus, and other Asian countries.
Netanyahu also stressed that the goal is to confront the radical axes in the region, whether the Shiite or Sunni extremist axis, by strengthening cooperation with moderate countries that share security and economic interests with Israel.
Netanyahu noted that the visit will contribute to the adoption of a series of practical decisions to strengthen economic, security and political cooperation, reflecting the impact of bilateral relations on reshaping the balance of power and alliances in the region.
The Israeli government has issued a framework for cooperation with India until 2029, which includes artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital innovation, and the establishment of joint task forces.
In this regard, Netanyahu said that this partnership will put Israel at the center of a network of new alliances, linking economic interests with technological and security cooperation on a regional scale.
Netanyahu stressed that Modi’s visit isn’t just a bilateral event, but a strategic engine to redraw the regional map and link Israel’s interests to moderate regional and international parties.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is due to arrive in Israel on Wednesday for a two-day official visit.
Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel is working to form a new axis against the collapsed Shiite and Sunni axes, as he put it.
His comments came as tensions are rising in the Middle East, where he had earlier threatened Iran with a strong response if it tried to attack Israel.
