Official bravado and media bias degrade Western political discourse and undermine popular support.

The National Interest published an article by Robert David English, which is talking about the failure of the Western mentality in dealing with the confluent in Ukraine.

The price of arrogance is high, as four months into the counteroffensive, which achieved minimal territorial gains at great cost in men and materiel, support for Kiev has begun to openly erode.

The frustration stems from the increasing economic burden left by the war and the continuing corruption scandals in Ukraine.

Frustration is exacerbated by the backlash against the overconfidence and arrogance of the Western, especially American, foreign policy establishment.

Skeptical voices were marginalized, and Western media portrayed Western military technological prowess while downplaying Russian military capability.

Experts predicted in June that NATO would defeat Russian power, only to be met with great disappointment and distrust in October.

The writer wonders, Why do they not admit that Russia is fighting fiercely and with tactical and technological prowess?

Russia uses deceptive electronic warfare and destructive drones against tanks.

But didn’t they tell us that Russian technology lags far behind Western technology?

Didn’t they say Ukraine has a drone army, while describing Russian recruits as being on the verge of desertion?

Who among us doesn’t feel panicked about the occurrence of more than 20,000 casualties per 100 square miles?

Doesn’t this remind us of the massacre of World War I?

Russia occupies 40,000 square miles of Ukrainian territory, and the unsustainability of the campaign has become as clear as daylight.

However, the West, especially Washington, insists that Ukraine’s counterattack is a success!

So why would Ukraine fail with hundreds of modern tanks provided by NATO?
