Maariv: Muhammad al Deif deceived Israel… he’s in good health and doesn’t walk in a wheelchair
Israeli Maariv newspaper said on Tuesday, that the Israeli army had obtained videos showing the Commander-in-Chief of the Hamas’ al Qassam Brigades, Muhammad al Deif, in good health, and moving on his feet without a wheelchair, contrary to estimates.
The Israeli newspaper indicated that al Deif lost his ability to move as a result of an assassination attempt that he had previously been subjected to and survived.
Maariv reported that, as part of the process of collecting intelligence information in the Gaza Strip, the army found several videos showing Muhammad al Deif walking on his feet and with a slight limp, which means that his health condition is much better than the estimates of the Israeli intelligence services, which were claiming that he is healthy, and able to move on his own.
Maariv added, in a report published on its website, that in another video, al Deif appears sitting in another place and he is in a much better health condition than was estimated in Israel, after a long series of failed assassination attempts, some of which he was injured.
While Maariv didn’t indicate how or where the Israeli army obtained the alleged recordings.
The Israeli authorities had attempted to assassinate al Deif on various occasions.
Among them is an attempt during the 2014 war on the Gaza Strip, and in one of the attempts, he was seriously injured.
Israeli estimates indicated that he was unable to move on his own, including moving his hands.
He’s using a wheelchair, and was transported from one place to another using ambulances.
Deif survived seven declared Israeli attempts to assassinate him, the last of which was in 2021.
Deif rarely speaks and never appears in public.
His last audio appearance was on October 7, when the Hamas military commander announced the Operation al Aqsa Flood.
Sources close to Hamas said in the wake of the operation al Aqsa Flood on October 7, that al Deif began planning the operation, which resulted in the killing of more than a thousand Israelis, after Israelis stormed al Aqsa Mosque, in May 2021, which angered the Arab and Islamic world.
