Lavrov comments on exposing written in Bolton’s memo taken by photographers

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has condemned the overt calls to intervene in Venezuela launched by Washington, commenting on written in the memo of the US national security adviser John Bolton, which is revealing the deployment of thousands of US troops in Colombia.

“I have just read reports that John Bolton, who appeared to be holding a news conference yesterday, left secret notes which cameras exposed it, according to medias cameras revealed footage”, Lavrov said on Tuesday.

“There are five thousand troops in Colombia”.

“This leads to a lot of ideas and concerns, especially in light of the open calls in the United States and in many other countries to use the neighboring countries of Venezuela as a transit point to intervene militarily in their crisis under the pretext of the difficult humanitarian situation”, Lavrov told a news conference in Moscow.

US President Donal Trump’s national security adviser, John Bolton, held a press conference on Monday to announce sanctions against Venezuela.

The journalists, who took a look at his notebook, saw a record of the entry of “5,000 US troops into Colombia”.

The Colombian Foreign Ministry later said it didn’t know why such a record appeared in Bolton’s note.

In 2017, US President Donald Trump hinted at the possibility of US military intervention in Venezuela.

Representatives of the Administration recently said that, with regard to Venezuela, “all options for action are being considered”.

However, the Colombian Defense Ministry’s press service told the Russian news agency Novosti that the Colombian government was not planning to give the United States military bases to invade Venezuela.
