Iran announced that it used hypersonic “Fateh 1” missiles for the first time in a missile attack on Israel.

Iranian state television reported that the Revolutionary Guards used hypersonic Fateh 1 missiles, which can overcome air defense shields due to their high speed, in the missile attack on Israel on Tuesday evening.

“For the first time, the Revolutionary Guards destroyed the missile shield that was guiding the radar and Arrow 2 and 3 missiles using hypersonic Fateh missiles,” Iranian TV said.

The Fateh missile is considered the first Iranian hypersonic ballistic missile, which was unveiled by the Revolutionary Guards on June 6, 2023, in the presence of the late President Ebrahim Raisi.

“In response to Israel’s assassination of Haniyeh and Nasrallah and its massacres in Gaza and Lebanon,” Iran announced on Tuesday that it had fired dozens of missiles at Israel (180 according to Tel Aviv’s estimate), causing human casualties, material damage, and the closure of airspace, while millions of Israelis rushed to shelters while sirens sounded throughout the country.

Hezbollah also announced that it had bombed an Israeli military air base on the outskirts of Tel Aviv with a salvo of Fadi 4 missiles, as part of a series of 16 offensive operations announced by Hezbollah on Tuesday.

Hezbollah said in a statement that he launched a salvo of Fadi 4 missiles at the Sde Dov air base on the outskirts of Tel Aviv.

Hezbollah explained that this bombing comes in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza and within the framework of the Khaybar series of operations and in response to the targeting of civilians and the massacres committed by the enemy.

The Fadi missiles, which Hezbollah began using this week for the first time since September 22, are surface-to-surface missiles that are area-based and not point-based, meaning they hit wide areas and not specific points.

The range of the Fadi 1 missile is 80 kilometers, and the Fadi 2 is 105 kilometers, while the range of the 3rd and 4th versions hasn’t been revealed, but it’s likely that they are more advanced and have a longer range than their predecessors.

Hezbollah also announced that it had targeted the Ilania base in northern Israel with a rocket salvo and achieved accurate hits.

In addition to targeting the Matla site and the Israeli artillery position in Beit Hillel, in the north with a rocket salvo.

The exchange of fire between Hezbollah and Israel continues, with the Israeli army announcing at dawn on Tuesday the start of a ground military operation in southern Lebanon, while no actual ground invasion by Israeli forces has been observed.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah denied Israel’s allegations in this regard, stressing that no direct clashes took place between its elements and the Israeli army in southern Lebanon.

Observers say that Israel’s announcement of the start of the ground invasion is a strategic deception that comes within the framework of psychological and media warfare.
